Multan Development Authority :

Multan Development Authority was derived from the Multan Improvement Trust(MIT), which was made in 1944 under Punjab Town Improvement Act, 1922. MIT was restricted to just residential and commercial schemes within the domain of municipal boundaries. MDA’s area spreads over 362 sq. Km

Major concern of MDA was to develop policies and planning  involving to introduction of new housing schemes for development of the city in order to make it more managed city. MDA launched a number of development schemes especially in housing sector. Amongst these schemes are Shah Rukne Alam I&II, Lodhi Colony, New Qasimpur Colony, Tughlaq Town and New shah shams housing scheme. These schemes contain of 11, 177 plots of various sizes. General Bus Stand, Multan Bypass, truck stand, development of Qasim Bagh and  improvement of different roads and recently the under pass at General Bus Stand Multan along with pedestrians bridges are some of the major projects completed by MDA.
